Headlight and Paint |
August 3, 2008: Unhappy with the appearance on the HyperMotard duck bill looking headlight, I'm planning on replacing it. I've mocked up several possible replacements and have been think of some different paint combinations. |

Ducati Single Sided Swingarm Knock-Off Lug |
August 15, 2008: Knock-Off lug were used on several brands of race cars, including Alfa-Romero and Ferrari, back in the 60's. Instead of 4 or more little lug nuts holding the tire in place, they used one large nut with wings on it. It was commonly removed with a rubber mallet. My ideal is to create a replacement rear lug nut for the Ducati single sided swingarm that has the wing design simular to those on the vintage Ferrari's.
I'll probably have to outsource the manufacturing (to insure quality/safety), so additional units could be produced. They should fit all the Ducati single sided swingarmed bikes except the 1098 (1098 has a large axle diameter). |

Ducati Slider for Footpegs |
October 19, 2008: I didn't like the way the pegs felt without the rubber isolaters, so I made some mods to the way the slides connected. |

Headlight |
November 22, 2008: Received the "Bike Side - Future 1" today. Sized it up and it looks like it going to work. I can see a few thin spots in the fiberglass, so I'm going to coat the inside and reinforce the screw mounts before mounting it up. |

December 6, 2008: Removed the stock headlist assembly and layed out how I'm going to mount the new light. The provided mounts aren't Ducati compatible, so I started drawing up new mounting brackets. I also started drawing up the new dash board. |

DucFoot Kickstand |

 eMachineShop Software |
 From eMachineShop |
Febraury 8, 2009: I redrew my original "DucFoot" kickstand pivot design (for the TurboMonster) in the CAD software provided by eMachineShop (now featured on there site). After a few delays they provided me with a dozen 6061-T6 blanks. I carved down the first one today to prep it for placement on the bike. I have a Aluminume kickstand from a Ducati 1098R that I will be trying to adapt to the bike. |

HyperPop-up |
May 5, 2009: I've decided to make an all aluminum pop-up gas cap for my HyperMotard. It will be similar in style to the one I made for my TurboMonster. I ordered an aluminum "Tolle" pop-up fuel cap this morning ($135). I can either make the base plate by hand (one off) or I can have a small batch of the base plates CNC'ed. Once I get the Tolle pop-up in I finize the overall design of the base plates. |
June 27, 2009: I got the aluminum billet (4 dia x 1 H") and the "Tolle" pop-up fuel cap. I just need to double check a couple of measurements and schedule shop time. |
September 17, 2009: I got a replacement Ducati OEM filler ring and started boring out the stock cap locking ring. |
October 5, 2009: I have the filler ring, o-ring and pop-up fuel cap ready. I need to have the final retainment ring machined. |
October 20, 2009: Project about 95% done. Just waiting to do the final fitting and polishing till my exhaust project is done. |

December 28, 2009: The final fitting required slightly resizing the beauty ring to compensate for the difference between the stock plastic tank over and the carbon fiber DucatiPerformance tank cover (the fuel cap insert ring are slightly different). Looks cool and works great! |

Oversized Grips |
May 12, 2009: I installed a set of MotoCyco "X-Knurled Grips". I had to trim the cam width a little to get it to work, but being quality billet aluminum it wasn't a problem. |

HyperKromo Video Mount |
January 24, 2010: "Necessity is the mother of innovation". I borrowed a friends "EdgeCameras" video recorder system and needed a way to video over the dash and still capture the gauges. |

New handlebars and handgaurds |
March 4, 2010: Growing tired of the extreme width of the handlebars with the mirrors extended, 48". I order ZETA SX-3 handlebar, real aluminum ZETA armor hand guards (bent) and Z-Carbon XC Hand Guards from Wheeling Cycle Supply.
While waiting for the new ZETA parts I started wounding what the bike would look like with a set of old-style road racing z-bars...
March 7, 2010: Installed all the new ZETA parts. They look good and reduced the bike wingspan down to 35" (a 13" savings). Plus I now have real hand protection! I also installed a set of carbon mirrors with intrigrated turnsignals I got from Moto-Science. |
April 30, 2010: Installed a new set of aluminum frame plugs and a cool clear lensed LED tail light. Both items where from DesmoWorld in Germany. Both products where easy to install and very well made. |
