1969 Ducati 350 SSS Scrambler

I got the ideal to get an old Ducati single after going to the Field Museum in Chicago to see the Art of the Motorcycle exhibit, which was on loan from the Guggenheim.

I got the Scrambler from it's original owner in Prescott Arizona. The bike was flat-track raced in the early 70's, then put in storage until I bought it in 1998. My friend, Dave Hull, and I had the bike running within 12 hours of picking it up. After replacing the 6 volt battery, chain and tires the bike was road worthy. I later replaced the carburetor with a new Dellorto carburetor with a larger throttle body. The bike is about 80% restored, but has some mechanical issues I still need to resolve for it to be safe to ride in traffic. I got vintage Arizona tags for the bike, and ride it to local vintage bike shows.

Note: I sold the 350SSS to Moto Creations in December of 2004. They wanted the bike for one of there projects. It was good to see it go to a good home.

Note: MotoCreations cancelled there project, so I got the bike back from them disassembled. Click Here to see the project bike currently.
